Self Aggrandisement

I reckon the only reason people (including myself) maintain blogs is because they want to feel more important.
I've been browsing other blogs lately, and more often than not, there are no signs that people have read them... other than their mothers of course.

So if someone other than myself actually reads this, please leave a comment, so that I will know that I am not waffling away to myself... and if no comments are left, I'll know that my initial assesment of blogging is correct.

What books have taught me...

Due to rain, I haven't been able to get into town to go to the library every day, so I have been forced to read any old book that I find lying around the house. A number of these have been historical romance novels, and I have learned a great deal from them... for example:

• Girls who are ugly children always turn out to be stunning women.
• A woman isn't considered a slut for loving 3 men at the same time, as long as she doesn't canoodle with them all at the same time.
• She can canoodle with the other men (one at a time) if the man she's married to dies.
• A woman's husband will always die in some tragic way (hunting accident, catching an illness from helping the poor etc), right at the time that she doesn't love him anymore.
• During the course of the book, one of her children will die in a tragic way.
• Everything will all work out in the end, if she has lost her fortune, her final husband will be rich.

Its all very heartwarming really, it just goes to show that no matter what happens to you, its not really your fault and some rich man will save you anyway... so just hang on.

Gainful Employment

Hurrah! I got a job!!

Finally some good news on the Job front. A couple of weeks ago I had an interview for a job with the New Zealand Customs Department, and I heard back from them the other day and I got offered the job!

I'll be starting my training in August and sadly I won't be living in the South Island anymore, or with Jessica :( But on the upside, I might actually have a social life again!

So to congratulate myself I got my shop on and bought me some bling. I got a Nixon watch, I've been wanting one for about a year, but at $370 a pop they were a little expensive, but I got this one which was on sale! Lovely.

SICK

I've been sick for the past week... it hasn't been pretty, but now I am starting to feel better, and i will have to do something to bring back my abs and back muscles.
Its amazing how weak I feel after lying in bed for a week!
