My trip to our nations capital

Instead of going home like I had planned, I stayed a couple of days in Wellington and then went up to Mt Maunganui with Melissa. So I hung around Wellington and did the usual stuff that one does in Wellington, went shopping, ate lots of international food, went to the zoo (which has its very own blog entry) and loitered around the parliament buildings.
And I just have to say, the downtown backpackers in Wellington has the best shower out of all the hostels I have stayed at. I would even go as far to venture that it has the BEST shower in the world. It was like needles of fire stabbing me. Sounds painful but its actually quite good, especially when the hostel beds are so hard. Why pay for a swiss massage when the shower can do it for you!

And the shower has a fantastic view of the Beehive. This morning when I was in the shower, looking directly out the window and hoping that no one in the Beehive had a pair of binoculars trained on me I took time to appreciate the view.
So should you go to wellington and need to stay at a hostel, I recommend this one.
